Born and raised on the water, our captain brings a lifetime of experience and a calm, confident presence to every outing. She grew up testing the boundaries of watersports with her siblings and cousins and found her calling. In college, she competed in wakeboarding for Chico State University and spent her summers in Shasta with a wakeboard coach, perfecting her skill.
After college, she traveled to Thailand to become a wakeboard park manager and a kiteboarding instructor, where she met her forever partner, Nahla. Nahla is the fury friend in the logo who is just as adventurous as her mother. After living abroad, Lauren came back to teach snowboarding in Tahoe and eventually found the water calling her back.
She got her US Coast Guard captain’s license in January of 2023 and began working for several companies around the lake. In the summer of 2024, she bought her family’s boat, the very boat she learned how to wakesurf on, and brought it to Big Blue to spread the joy of watersports and being on the lake. Known for her patience and encouraging style, she makes everyone feel at ease, whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned rider.
